BioPak's sugarcane biodegradable plates or BioPlates are tree-free – made from reclaimed and rapidly renewable sugarcane pulp – and certified home compostable. Available in a variety of sizes with the option of single or three compartments, these plates can handle a wide variety of hot and cold foods.
BioPak use sugarcane pulp (bagasse) to produce a range of food service containers, plates and bowls. Sugarcane pulp is an abundant and rapidly renewable resource that will biodegrade in a compost environment, making it an ideal material for foodservice disposables. It is also a byproduct of the sugar refining industry, transforming an output that is currently considered waste into a valuable input for another process providing significant environmental benefits. Using sugarcane pulp as a raw material preserves forests. While 5 tonnes of wood are needed to produce 1 tonne of pulp for paper, only 1.5 tonnes of sugarcane pulp are needed to produce the same amount.
A great choice for businesses trying to save money on their packaging costs. Biodegradable plates provide a simple yet effective solution for serving in house meals at food markets or from food trucks.
The sugarcane plates are available in six different sizes with compartment plate options as well. Round/circular plates in 6, 7, 9 and 10 inch options with 3-compartment alternatives in the 9 and 10 inch plates. Small and large oval plates are also available to better suit larger servings.
