After their useful life of about 20 minutes, plastic straws are disposed of, ending up in landfill at best or in our oceans where they are ingested by marine life, causing plastic to make its way up the food chain. But there are still times when consumers prefer to use a straw and not everyone remembers to pack their reusable straw every time.
So, to lower the impact on the environment, we now offer carbon neutral, recyclable, commercially and home compostable BioStraws. Made from 3 ply premium grade FSC® certified paper sourced from managed plantations. But not all paper straws are created equal. Some feature a plastic lining, which means they end up in landfill instead of recycling or compost and others are made from virgin pulp instead of sustainably sourced FSC® certified paper. We do not use any coating on our straws.
Available in three sizes – Cocktail (4.5x120mm), Regular (6x197mm) and Jumbo (10x197mm) – our paper straws come in lots of colours, including Art Series designs and you can even add your own custom branding. Plus, we’re using premium, extra strength three-ply paper to ensure the straws maintain their integrity while being used. The total paper weight of the three layers is 350gsm (135gsm + 135gsm + 80gsm).
